 According to a study by John Hancock it was found that in 2008 the average nursing home in the United States cost between $74,000 and $66,000 per year.  I recently called a local Ohio adult care facility.  They told me full nursing care was $6,000 per month.  Assisted living was $3,600 per month.  Home health care aid cost about $19 per hour.
